ABOUT MY METHODS
All of my signs are handcrafted using hand tools and the only power tool I own, my old electric drill. I create my own original designs digitally and print them out, I attach carbon paper to these and then transfer the design to the board with a pencil making any necessary changes to fit the individual board. I then paint these in by hand with a brush. Most of my colours are self mixed as I find it the only way to achieve the exact colour I require.

I don't use spray guns, stencils, masks or vinyls. I love the traditional methods and all of the character they bring to the signs....each sign is therefore a labour of love and completely unique.

All of my paints, glazes and topcoats are water based, low to no voc and child safe.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
The authentic driftwood appearance of these signs is achieved by applying many differing shades of grey stains to the wood over which I apply glazes to build up the patina and areas of use and distress.

The lettering and embellishments are vintage white and have a slight fade through applied.

For the metalwork I have used a very gentle corrosive process which takes around two weeks to achieve the right level of rust and distress required to give an authentic aged look to the new steel. A very time consuming process but worth it to maintain the look and by using new steel hooks and distressing only the surface level this ensures sturdiness and reliability.

The signs all hang from natural cotton rope and are sealed with a polyacrylic topcoat.
