The Copper Solar Light has a solar cell that converts sunlight into electricity. This electricity is used to recharge the built-in Ni-Cad batteries each day. It charges by day, even when cloudy, and emits up to 8 hours of light at night. A photo-cell sensor automatically turns on the light at night. The white LED bulb is incredibly bright, and will never need to be replaced.
